The Survival Girls

The Survival Girls, a female performance group, was founded in 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya, to bring young female refugees in urban areas together to empower them with arts expression, awareness and counseling.  The majority of these female refugees are victims of rape, assaults and other sorts of violence  in their country of origin. The target membership demographic for this group are girls aged 15-30yrs from Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.

Conflict resolution and empowerment through the arts are our main concerns.  We are constantly looking for possible ways for these young women to thrive in city of Nairobi, and bring empowerment for young female refugees who have experienced hardship in life.
